The little things that don't matter seem to get me more than the 'big' things. Go figure.
Isn’t it amazing how cozy and comfortable a warm cup of coffee can make you feel? Or how fulfilling or energizing a coffee date can be? According to this crazy (and pretty outdated) list of coffee facts, 49 percent of coffee drinkers would rather give up their cell phone for a month than go without coffee. I mean… what?! While I know there is a national holiday for seemingly everything these days, it seems fitting that businesses, small and large, are celebrating National Coffee Day today. It’s like the Super Bowl or Christmas Day for the over-caffeinated.
Today, I’m remembering that day in first grade. I’m remembering that feeling of being new, unaware and overwhelmed. And I’m remembering the thousands of people who sacrificed their lives and lost loved ones in the city I now call home. In the midst of natural disasters, stark political division and a sense of uncertainty about the future, let’s take a minute to help one another, pray and appreciate the little things - because I know I take them for granted.
While this little blog is mostly a creative outlet for me and a fun way to share what I'm up to with friends near and far, there may be some of you out there I haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting or seen in a bit. Here are some fun facts.
I LOVE back to school season. The new office supplies, the excitement of something new happening, routines being established. It's a little weird not experiencing this year for the first time! Here are a few of my "back to school" mems and resolutions.
